PinLED Display-Set 30001
For all Bally and Stern Pinballs built between 1978 and 1985

he PinLED Display 30001 is the right replacement  for defective original plasma glass tube displays. The PinLED Display has a very long lifetime and fits exactly. It has the same measurements as the original plasma glass tube display units. The PinLED Display 30001 consist of two boards. These two boards are mounted together in a 90° angle.
The PinLED Display 30001 contains the following items:

1. The six digit PinLED Display board: This board carries the six PinLED LEDs units.
2. The PinLED Controller board: This board contains the control electronics. The 20 pin connector is like the original. All control signals for the PinLED Display 30001 are generated by this Controller board.

he PinLED Display 30001 can be used in all Bally and Stern Pinballs built between 1978 and 1985. The PinLED Display 30001 is also the Credit/Match or Jackpot Display in later machines that use the seven digit board (like PacMan, Vector, ........)
The installation is very easy and simple. We use the same pin allocations as the original display. You can't mix it up! No conversion will be necessary.  Installation is "plug and play" and takes only five minutes (see installation guide).

echnical Notes:
The consistent brilliance of the PinLED Displays make for excellent viewing under all lighting conditions, even bright daylight. The PinLED Display 30001 uses only the 5 V voltage from the Power Supply Assembly. Power consumption of the PinLED Display with all digits on is only app. 200mA. This additional power will be delivered by the Power Supply Assembly without any problems. The voltage regulator LM323K is designed for 3A, but under normal conditions this high amount of current won't be used in the pinball machine (1 to 1.3A is normal with normal plasma glass tube displays). The additional amount of current isn't critical because even if you have built in five PinLED Displays it will rise up to approx. 2 to 2.3A.
You can change to the PinLED Display 30001 step by step. That means if one original display is broken you can change one single PinLED Display at one time. You can just leave the working original plasma glass tube displays in their places and change the defective one only. And if you change all displays in your pinball you can remove the high voltage fuse on the solid driver board. So it is possible to run the pinball machine even when the high voltage power supply is defective.
