If you follow the steps the installation is very easy and safe.
Unplug the mains plug.
Open the Backbox.
Disconnect the cables from the original display.
Remove the old display. Push the end of the mounting brackets together and pull the old display out.
Remove the middle mounting stud. (use a pair of pliers).
Get the new PinLED Display into a suitable position. Data East use two different Display boards. They have different mounting holes. Depending which one you own there are two ways to mount the new PinLED Display into your Data East machine.
6.2. Push the PinLED Display in the mounting brackets. Make sure that the two top mounting brackets are lined up all the way up in the slot. Close the Backbox and put in the Backglass. Please check that the two LED rows are lined up correctly in the Backglass. If the rows are too low you must install your PinLED Display the other way.
6.2. If your LED rows are too low your old Display is the second version. In this case mount the PinLED Display with the two top mounting brackets. Make sure that they are lined up all the way down in the slot. The lower two mounting brackets aren’t longer in use. Mount the lower end of the PinLED Display with two small woodscrews (not included in this Set) and the two spacers to the wood door. After reinstallation of the Back glass the LED rows are in the right position.
Connect the cables from the system 11 board to the new display. It is not possible to mix them up! The red wire on the flat cable is then on the left of the new PinLED Display board (Pin 1) and on the system 11 board to the right (Pin 1).
Remove the high voltage fuses on the power supply board. This is only to be on the safe side. The new displays will also work with installed fuses. But the high voltage is not any longer in use after the conversion to PinLED Displays.
Install the Backglass again.
Connect the mains plug.
That's it! Switch on the pinball and enjoy playing in new dimensions.....
