Dotmatrix Controller Board

Question: How do I set the DIP switches for the display voltage?

Answer: The PinLED Dotmatrix Controller Board offers the possibility of setting different supply voltages for the display. It should be noted that only lower voltages than the original voltage level can be set. I.e. You have the option of setting the supply voltages three steps lower. This has the advantage that you extend the service life of new displays because the display is operated more gently. You can turn the voltage down as long as you can still see all the details on the display. If individual dots start to disappear, you can simply set the voltage one level higher.

The DIP switch for the voltage settings is located between the two heat sinks.

  • DIP switches 1 and 2 set the -126V and -114V voltage.
  • DIP switches 3 and 4 set the + 61V voltage.

  • DIP switches 1 and 2 OFF => -126V / -114V
  • DIP switches 1 ON and 2 OFF => -121V / -109V
  • DIP switches 1 OFF and 2 ON => -117V / -105V
  • DIP switches 1 and 2 ON => -112V / -100V

  • DIP switches 3 and 4 OFF => + 61V
  • DIP switches 3 ON and 4 OFF => + 58V
  • DIP switches 3 OFF and 4 ON => + 56V
  • DIP switches 3 and 4 ON + 52V
