Before you start installing your new PinLED display set, please check the contents of the packaging.

  1. The new PinLED display.
  2. Four plastic spacers.
  3. One or two jackpot displays (Taxi, Police Force or Riverboat Gambler only.

If you have any questions about the conversion to the new PinLED display, you can contact me at support@pinled.de. I will then contact you to resolve any problems.If you observe the following points, the conversion will be quick and safe.

  • Pull out the mains plug.
  • Remove the backglass from the head section and place it in a safe place (risk of breakage).
  • Place the loudspeaker cover forward on the glass plate of the playfield.
  • Disconnect the cable connections to the old displays.
  • Unscrew the four fastening screws of the old display (required for fastening the new display).
  • Remove the old display.
  • There is a 4-pin DIP switch in the lower right corner. This must now be set to the respective pinball type and manufacturer.

  • DIP switch Williams:
  • S1 ON
  • S2 OFF
  • S3 OFF
  • S4 OFF

  • DIP switches Williams Taxi, Police Force, Riverboat Gambler:
  • S1 ON
  • S2 ON
  • S3 ON
  • S4 ON

  • DIP switch Data East:
  • S1 OFF
  • S2 OFF
  • S3 OFF
  • S4 OFF
  • Position the PinLED display.
  • Position the four spacer sleeves provided under the screw holes.
  • Fasten the display with the four screws.
  • At the Taxi, Police Force or Riverboat Gambler, one or two Jackpot displays are also installed.
  • Connect ribbon cable. Make sure that pin 1 of the ribbon cable points to pin 1 on the connector.
  • Connect ribbon cable. Pay attention to pin 1 (red wire). The red wire must point to pin 1 on the display and on the CPU board.
  • Reconnect plug connections to the PinLED display. You cannot confuse plugs because they are coded.
  • Remove high voltage fuses! (Depending on the version of the power supply board, there are one or two fuses!) This is only a precaution to protect the LED display board (the display also works normally with built-in fuses). However, since the high voltage in the pinball device is no longer required after conversion to the PinLED displays, it can be switched off by removing the fuses.
  • Reinstall the speaker panel.
  • Reinstall the backglass of the head section.
  • Plug in the mains plug.
  • Switch on the device and off you go ...
