Single Trough Up-Kicker Opto
Use of an infrared light barrier for easier handling and alignment.
With the new Single Up-Kicker Opto Board it is possible to improve the functionality considerably.
Simpler construction:
The original SEGA / STAR version is based on a visible light beam that is generated by a bright red LED. A light-emitting diode is also used as the receiver and is operated upside down. This principle works rather poorly and requires a very precise adjustment of the light beam. A common source of error is and was that the light beam was not precisely aligned and the light barrier was not working. The new single through-up kicker opto board is based on infrared technology. This also reduces the number of components on the receiver board by 40%. The principle of the infrared light barrier works much more safely and trouble-free than the original visible light barrier used. After installation, precise alignment is no longer necessary because the infrared principle works better.
All pin assignments and board dimensions are the same as the original. The set is not supplied with the rubber mounting dampers. These must be taken from the original SEGA / STERN boards.
